The Whealsh are a smaller tribe that have a long history but have otherwise been obscured by more prominent tribes over the years. Originating in [[Karnali]] on [[Keltia]] they were pushed by hostile tribes to cross the [[Strait of Pearls]] into [[Apollonia]] and settle in the [[Anglo-Saxon Commonwealth]]. Unlike many of the other tribes that originated from the south and west, this eastern tribe bore distinct traits carried over from their origins on a different continent. Whereas most tribes in the Crandish sphere had armies based almost entirely of cavalry, the Whealsh brought with them wheeled chariots. The distinctively-colored wheels that adorned these vehicles made them visually arresting on the field of battle and the tribes' name came from this feature (Wheals = wheels). Over the years the tribe was culturally assimilated by the dominant Crandish population, but the tradition of chariot riders has been carried in to modern times and is still a source of pride to the Whealsh people. | |||
