2023 SLF Cup |
The SLF Cup is the secondary football cup competition in Floria. The cup involves all professional teams in the Florian football league system. The winner qualifies for a AEFA Champions' League group stage berth. The competition is contested by 64 teams. The tournament was dormant from 2020 to 2022 before being reintroduced for the 2022–23 season.
History
The SLF Cup was formed in early 2018, to provide a second competition for all professional Florian sides to compete in. It was also created to allow U23 teams to develop and play matches against senior sides however development teams were removed for 2020 edition. Teams in Floria also desired to play matches midweek and so the Florian FA decided to implement the competition from late 2018 onwards. However, after the end of the 2020 edition, the competition was scrapped due to lack of interest from fans and clubs alike. However the competition was introduced back for the 2022–23 season.
