The National Gridiron Football League of Nouvelle Alexandrie (NGFL), is the most prestigious professional Amorian football league in Nouvelle Alexandrie. Originating from the Aldurian Gridiron Football League (AGFL) founded in Alduria, the NGFL was established in 1685 AN when Alduria became a part of Nouvelle Alexandrie.
Structure
The NGFL consists of 20 teams, an expansion from the original 16 teams from the AGFL era. The teams are divided between two conferences: the Euran Conference (EC) representing teams from the continent of Eura and from Lyrica, and the Keltian Conference (KC) showcasing teams from Keltia and the Isles of Caputia. Each conference is further divided into two divisions, with the Euran Conference being divided between Coastal and Interior Divisions and the Keltian Conference being divided into the Keltian Division and the Insular Division.

History
The AGFL was a popular sports league in the Republic of Alduria, known for its exciting games and fostering a passionate fan culture. When Alduria joined Nouvelle Alexandrie in 1685 AN, the AGFL transitioned into the NGFL to represent the broader range of teams and fans across the new federation. This transition marked an expansion from 16 to 20 teams, accommodating new teams from across Nouvelle Alexandrie.
Competitions
Each NGFL season culminates in the Grand Alexandrian Bowl, a championship game where the top teams from the EC and KC compete for the national title. Other significant events on the NGFL calendar include the All-Star game and the annual Draft.
Influence
The NGFL is one of the major professional sports leagues in Nouvelle Alexandrie, and it plays a significant role in the country's culture and economy. The league's games are widely followed and have a considerable impact on television ratings and merchandise sales.
