The party changed name to the current Sanamati Democratic Party at the start of the Sanaman Civil War, when it also took control of the Peoples' Front. During the civil war the party organised the proto-polity the Sanaman Federation of Democratic People's Republics as an umbrella organisation for the various democratic people's republics.
