The River Boys or Boys of River are the official ultras group of the Daau national football team. They are quite famous for supporting and following the national team, at home and away.

There is an estimated 2,500 members which are official BoR members.

History

The river boys was founded locally when Ismail Topal had the idea of a small chanting party for the national team's next match to raise attendances. He was inspired by the actions of the Naldas of Senya and decided to start a small circle of ultras to join and chant for the national team. At first however, they were failing to attract attention locally due to low media coverage but as more and more fans poured into the stadium and noticed a group of men wearing the team's colors and chanting in unison, the group soon picked up headlines and decided to officially name themselves the River Boys after the infamous River Khal running between Daau and Kransovlac.

The group would be officially recognized before the Tri-Nations series and were given their own curcva in the national stadium, named the River Curva.

Behavior

Despite their appearances, the group is actually one of the most welcoming fangroups in Daau, they are known to be friendly to new fans and also foreigner fans and welcome them with big hugs. The chants are usually about union and lifting spirits on the pitch. The River Boys aer always dressed in full red and have tifos and banners hanging around their curva in the national stadium. The group also has a tendency to use flares during big games such as derbies or knockouts to further lift the atmosphere and attempt to stun the opposition with electrifying chants and loud drums.

Membership

The group is free to join and has no entry requirements. Most of the group are made up of locals and sometimes some foreigners will come join and chant with them.

Matchday rules

The group has a set of matchday rules for those that join and represent them during matchdays.

  • Wear red clothes/national jersey/River Boys t-shirt
  • Never disrespect the players of your side
  • Listen to the group leader during chants
  • Racist, sexist or derogatory language are banned

Regarding members that have emigrated overseas to other countries, as long they hold the River Boys pass and present them during games, they're allowed to join matches and often join away games.

Alliances

The group is close to the Sepako ultras of Mataba.
