Project Space Armor is a New Alexandrian government multistatic radar system that will be built to detect orbital objects passing over Nouvelle Alexandrie. It is currently under development to complement the recently finished Home Defense Citadel Chains. The system will be part of a greater national system of sensors, sonar, ballistic missile defenses, and radar designed to provide the commander and the leadership of the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie with an accurate picture of any aerospace or maritime threat. Research and development began as part of the New Prosperity Plan defense spending in 1686 AN, when a consortium composed of the New Alexandrian Department of Defense, the National Science Administration, Javelin Industries, Neridia Defense Industries, and Dingo Enterprises.
Contracts were issued for development and construction in 1696 AN, and with the project expected to be operational in 1701 AN. The budget is €2 billion écu.
