West Barrow Island is a municipality of Hurmu, constituting the western part of Barrow Island (District of the Warring Islands. Until 1698 was under the sovereignty of Nova England. Following the collapse of Nova England, the Hurmu Peace Corps patrolled the area before Hurmu officially annexed a year later.
