A stopgap armoured vehicle, developed to serve as a tank-hunter and as a platform to operate in the direct-fire support role for infantry, the T-105 self-propelled gun was developed by VolksCorp in the period following the unilateral rearmament of the Florian Republic and introduced into service with the Florian Republic Armed Forces just prior to the outbreak of the Verionian-Raspur War where, ironically enough, the SPG would be deployed against forces of the Iron Company, VolksCorps' ultimate owners.

An adequate, rather than spectacular, armoured vehicle, the T-105 performed well-enough as a mobile gun-emplacement, although its utility as a tank-killer was limited against modern and heavily armoured main battle tanks. The Black Legions received 57 T-105's as part of the Florian contribution in the allied effort against Kalgachia where only one was lost as a consequence of enemy action. These were subsequently distributed amongst four armoured legions and an area defence group facing towards the frontier with Lower Batavia.

Only thinly armoured, the T-105 is best positioned to fire from positions of concealment, preferably with a line of retreat that is obscured from any potential hostile field of fire.
