Club Career
Degroot was originally a player for Zeeburg FC, but on 14 July 2012, he transferred for a fee of Cr200,000 to Svorgas Scitenhima in Senya, breaking both leagues records for biggest transfer fee, despite having yet to have played for Zeeburg FC. Later the same day, Degroot was loaned out to third division team Eastern Mountain Glacier for a month, to gain some experiance of Senyan football. He appeared 3 times for EMG, scoring in every game. On his return to Svorgas Scitenhima, Degroot was on the recieving end of racial abuse from Eprat City Harps manager Vorek Formiga. His Debut was cut short has he went off the pitch in tears. Two days later he joined Eastern Mountain Glacier permanently for a fee of Cr400,000.
In the 2012–13 Senyan Third League, Jos helped EMG finish second place in the league, before joining Safirian club Miše FC on loan for six months, joining straight after the season finished, meaning he didn't play any games, but did allow for him to get some training. Prior to the start of the 2013–14 Senyan Second League, Degroot was loaned to Avante Lucia.
On 10 January 2010, Degroot was sold to Third League club Sitizōnas Bɏer Moroni for a fee of Cr350,000 after 52 appearances and 11 goals for EMG.
International Career
Degroot made his international debut for Zeeburg in the 2012 Zeeburg Tournaments. On 16 June 2012, in a match in the tournament against Senya, Jos scored his first international goal, heading in from a corner kick to put Zeeburg 3-1 up. Zeeburg went on to win 4-3.
