Caligae is an Elwynnese bailiwick and city containing the most northern point of the Benacian continent, Cape Farewell, located in the county of Cape Farewell. The bailiwick is one of Elwynn's oldest, founded in 1509 as the Commune of Caligae. Its borders were last adjusted in 1680, when the former bailiwicks of Andelarion and Terror were amalgamated to the bailiwick.
Due to its geographical location (with good ice-free harbours to the north, to the west and to the east), it has long been the major commercial and political centre of northern Elwynn.
