Regional Governor of North Lyrica
The Regional Governor of North Lyrica is the chief executive of the Region of North Lyrica within the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie. The Governor is responsible for the administration of regional government, implementation of laws passed by the Council of Beaufort, and representation of North Lyrican interests within the federal system. The office was established upon North Lyrica's admission to the Federation in 1687 AN. The Governor is elected by popular vote to a five-year term and may seek re-election. With approximately 29 million inhabitants, North Lyrica is among the more populous Regions in the Federation and holds significant economic importance due to its timber industry and the strategic Beaufort maritime port.
The current Regional Governor is Marie-Louise Arsenault of the Federal Humanist Party. Arsenault served as Acting Regional Governor from 13.IV.1749 AN following the arrest of Christian Cartier du Bois in the North Lyrica logging scandal. She won the 1749 gubernatorial election outright with 56.8% of the vote. Arsenault previously served as Lt. Governor of North Lyrica from 1739 AN to 1749 AN.
