Ollanta Rafael Mayta (born 4.XIV.1682 AN) is a New Alexandrian politician and trade policy specialist serving as Secretary of Trade and Industry since 1739 AN. A member of the Federal Humanist Party, he has represented the Isles of Caputia in the Federal Assembly since 1729 AN. Born in Rimarima, Wechua Nation, to a working-class family, Mayta moved to Velez in the Isles of Caputia in 1705 AN, where he built a career in port administration and international trade. He worked his way from dock supervisor to Deputy Director of the Port of Velez between 1707 AN and 1725 AN, earning recognition for streamlining cargo handling procedures and developing export promotion programs that helped Velez become a major commercial hub for agricultural products from the Isles of Caputia.
Mayta entered politics in 1726 AN when he was appointed to the Isles of Caputia Regional Economic Development Council, where he focused on trade facilitation and small business development. He was elected Deputy in the 1729 general elections as part of the Federal Humanist Party slate from the Isles of Caputia, campaigning on a platform of export-led growth and port infrastructure modernization. In the Federal Assembly, he served on the Trade and Commerce Committee and quickly established himself as an expert on maritime commerce, customs procedures, and regional trade integration. He was appointed as Secretary of Trade and Industry by Premier Juan Pablo Jimenez in 1739 AN.
As Secretary, Mayta has overseen significant expansion of Nouvelle Alexandrie's industrial capacity and trade relationships, particularly in support of the Force 1752 initiative. He has focused on export promotion, foreign direct investment attraction, customs modernization, and coordination between trade policy and industrial development. His tenure has been marked by pragmatic approaches to balancing free trade principles with strategic industrial policy. At 68 (1750 AN), he is one of the senior members of the Council of State and is respected across party lines for his technical expertise and unpretentious style.
