Amapola is a major inland metropolis in the Region of Alduria, Nouvelle Alexandrie. With a population of 4,215,890 as of the 1750 AN census, it is the fourth-largest city in the Federation and serves as the industrial heartland of the nation. Located in the center of Alduria's resource-rich interior plateau, Amapola is the undisputed capital of Nouvelle Alexandrie's energy sector, heavy manufacturing industry, and Alexandrium mining and processing operations. The city holds Special City status within the Federation, granting it direct access to federal funding and development programs.

Established in 1671 AN during the early development of the Aldurian Republic, Amapola was planned as an industrial center strategically positioned near major hydrocarbon deposits and, crucially, one of the largest known concentrations of Alexandrium ore on the Euran continent. The city's name, meaning "poppy" in Martino, references the wild poppies that once blanketed the semi-arid plains where the city now stands. The discovery of significant oil, natural gas in the region during the late 1670s AN transformed Amapola from a modest industrial settlement into a booming metropolis that would become essential to the Federation's economic and military power. Later on discovery of Alexandrium deposits in 1731 AN led to a boom that has brought dramatically increased investment and jobs to the city.

Today, Amapola produces approximately 40% of Nouvelle Alexandrie's refined petroleum products, 35% of its natural gas output, and processes nearly 60% of the Federation's Alexandrium, the rare mineral essential for advanced technologies and military applications. The Amapola Industrial Complex, sprawling across the eastern districts of the city, houses the largest concentration of refineries, smelters, and processing facilities in Eura. The Aldurian Oil Company, the state-owned energy corporation, maintains its headquarters in the city, alongside dozens of major corporations in the petrochemical, mining, and heavy manufacturing sectors.

Beyond its industrial might, Amapola is known as the cradle of the New Alexandrian labor movement, with a rich history of worker organization and social progress dating back to the early days of the Aldurian Republic. The city's cultural significance is embodied in institutions such as the Grand Ballet of Amapola and the Institut des Sciences d'Amapola (ISA), which has been at the forefront of scientific research and innovation since its establishment in 1679 AN. Amapola is also a major military center, hosting the Amapola Joint Military Complex, a significant base for both Army and Air Force components of the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie, as well as key defense manufacturing facilities that supply the Raspur Pact alliance.
