Ziggurat Siege!, the inaugural game title developed by the Liveried Company of Computational Software Writers in Kingsweep for the Benacian Data Network, is a "ziggurat defence game" set in the Kingdom of Babkha.
The player performs the role of the unnamed Satrap, tasked by the corpulent Shah and his scheming Grand Vizier with the construction and expansion of a monumental ziggurat, which will assert the Babkhan subjugation of that portion of Eura. The game alternates between construction and defence phases, during the latter of which the ziggurat is assailed by alternating waves of "Atteran bombers" and "Tudeh revolutionaries" who seek to demolish the player's work from the preceding construction phase. The player defends the ziggurat by the means of building "flaktowers" and hiring "yemin zoka gendarmes". In addition to defending against Tudeh revolutionaries, the yemin zoka also deliver a +4 bonus to extorting resources and corvee labourers from neighbouring villages, albeit with a -2 corruption penalty on revenues. If the player meets the defeat conditions, the destruction of the ziggurat, the game ends with a video cut scene where agents of the Grand Vizier arrive to garotte the player's character with a silken cord.
