Xaschbam
Xaschbam, a station stop on the eastern route of the Benacian Union Kalgachia Aligned Corridor Exchange. The corresponding settlement, situated in the Abrek Lieutenancy, controls access to the valley that leads southwestwards towards Oktavyan, the capital of Kalgachia. Road and rail connections from Xaschbam lead both to Oktavyan and also to Abrek which lies further to the northwest. At the surface level, Xaschbam appears a modest and underdeveloped market town. However, in common with other major population centres in Kalgachia, there is a subterranean archology wherein dwells most of the citizenry and to which access by visiting Benacian officials was denied before 1718 AN.
History
The paucity of records pertaining to Xaschbam is to be considered suspicious. Some have postulated that the closed archology may itself prove to be an access point to the Depths of Lapivril, however this must be considered unlikely as the sub-surface excavations beneath the Octavian Mountains of Benacia would presumably, on the principle of security, be accessible only from mountainous core territory of the Garden.
