Vulcuria

Vulcuria is a city in the Confoederatio Aemilia, founded by the Republic of the United Cities in the Lanzerwald in 1710. It was built on the ruins of a previous city that was once the capital of the Principality of Rhaetia. Ancient Vulcuria was mostly destroyed in a flood, when water levels of the river Sturia rapidly rose after torrential rains in the mountains, after which the city was abandoned. The city is home to refugees from Zandarijn, who fled their former homeland after the Sack of Hamstadt and who are mostly unrelated to the former people inhabiting the city. Vulcuria is a signatory to the Union of Oudorp.

During the Lanzerwaldian-Whaler War, Vulcuria was home to a camp for prisoners-of-war. Across the river the city is built near, lies the castle of Transvulcuria.
