Victoria Wilson-Clarke, born Victoria Elizabeth Josepha Wilson-Clarke (b. 1650 AN, d. 1731 AN), was a New Alexandrian politician and civic activist from the Region of South Lyrica. A daughter of Joseph Wilson-Clarke, Jr., 2nd Duke of Lausanne, and an aunt of the politicians Elias and Gary Wilson-Clarke, she was the first non-Humanist Mayor of Lausanne, an office she held from 1703 AN until her death in 1731 AN.
Mayor of Lausanne
Victoria came to prominence in the socialist movement of Lausanne, chairing the city organization of the Social Democratic and Liberal Alliance (SDLA) from 1700 AN. In 1703 AN she was elected Mayor of the city, the capital of South Lyrica, defeating the Humanist incumbent Archibald Gelters-Grayling by five points to become the first non-Humanist mayor in the city's history.
She was repeatedly re-elected and served as mayor for the rest of her life, continuing after the 1720 AN rebranding of the SDLA into the Democratic Socialist Party (DSP), and died in office in 1731 AN. Her long tenure established the mayoralty as a stronghold of the Lyrican left and of her own family; the office remained with the Wilson-Clarke family through her granddaughter Beatriz Powers, the Democratic Socialist mayor of Lausanne in 1760 AN.
Family
Victoria was a member of the Wilson-Clarke family, the Aldurian-descended settler dynasty prominent across the two Lyrican regions, and the daughter of the 2nd Duke of Lausanne. She married John Powers and had four children, John Jr., Jessica, Logan, and Andrea, from whom the family's Powers cadet branch descends.
