Unified Craitish Football League

The Unified Craitish Football League, commonly referred to by its initials UCFL, is a proposed Amorian football league in Craitland. It is planned to play its first season in the autumn of 2018.

History

The league was first proposed by the nation's four existing fully-professional teams following the dormancy of the MGFL, in which they were planned to compete. With four teams being considered too few to continue holding solely a domestic tournament, invitations to join an expanded league were sent to a number of amateur clubs playing in regional leagues, with a further twelve places in the new league available.

Teams

So far, the following teams have confirmed their participation in the inaugural season of the UCFL:

Eastern Division

Northern Division

Southern Division

Western Division

Format

The eventual 16 competing teams are expected to be split into multiple subdivisions; seemingly four divisions each of four teams. Teams are likely to play their own divisional rivals twice every season and teams in the remaining divisions once apiece to give each team a schedule of 18 regular season matches. Following the completion of the regular season, a post-seasonal play-off tournament will occur—amongst, at least, the four divisional champions—with a knock-out format deciding the teams which shall play in the UCFL Championship Game for the overall title of Craitish champions.

UCFL Championship Game

The Championship Game will be the flagship event of the season and will decide the league's champions. With agreement with the MGFF, the winner of the game will proceed to compete in the Micras Bowl alongside the champions of the other premier gridiron leagues on Micras.
