Tymaria (city)
- For the United Republic of Tymaria, see Tymaria.
Tymaria is a ruined city located on the southernmost island of the Norfolk Isles. Earlier, the city was known as "Tymaria City". The city was abandoned in 1639 AN. The city was briefly claimed by Çakaristan in 1723 AN, but that claim was abandoned. As of 1723 AN the city is unclaimed by any MCS member state.
History
On first map of the whole of Micras, as far as is now known, the island, on which the ruined city is located, is visible. This island, like the rest of the Norfolk Isles, were under the flag of Shireroth. On version 4.5, the city of Tymaria became visible, but it was not until 1567 AN that the city became the formal capital of the Shirerian Norfolk Isles. Only to later lose that position of capital in favour of Augesbury. In 1618 AN, the city, along with military station Halifax, became part of Apollonian Republic of Shireroth's East, while the rest of the Norfolk Isles still remained under Shirerian flag. A year later, the rest of the Norfolk Isles passed to the Apollonian Republic. Tymaria City was the second most populous city in the Apollonian Republic, with a population of 9,387,000. But in 1639, the city and the island on which it was located disappeared.
Is it on or off the map?
Early claimsmaps show the island; with the appearance of the city, the island was completely covered. Between version 4.8.0 and 5.0.0, Tymaria's symbol got changed and shifted south-east slightly, misaligning it with the island's previous location. But when the city disappeared, the island also disappeared from the claimsmap. On the physical map, the island cannot be found. Also on Shirerian maps from 1632 AN, the island cannot be found.
Tymarian Palace
The Tymarian Palace, in the center of Tymaria City and surrounded by the large gardens, are an impressive sight for those who can get close enough. The artwork - according to sources - became a mix of the two dominant Eastern Shirerithian cultures: those of Kildare and Aryasht.
The building had fallen in disarray around 5200 ASC (1605 AN) but was eventually rebuild by command of Dutchess Sophia I, who wanted to use it as a family residence after it was agreed that She and the Prince of Aryasht would marry, following the agreement between both States in 5266 ASC (1608 AN).
Trivia
- In 1606 AN, the city's name was changed to Sarvabhaumapur (City of the universal empire). The name did not last and did not appear on a claimsmap. See here.
