Treythril is a small city in Ashinthael and capital of Hyllandor Hold. It was founded in ancient times by Menelmacar as a safe haven in the contested Teir'Dal Wasteland. The area was dominated by the Elfinshi Menelmacari but was closely tied to Ashinthael and the dragon riders, often supplying magic wielders to the kingdom. Due to its remote isolation the city survived several eons of the rise and fall of empires, often going unnoticed. It was rediscovered by the nation of Treynor to the east when that country sent explorers into the east. Subsequently the Treynorans kept the city a secret and when their empire fell many fled to the safety of the valley, intermarrying with the native Elfinshi. When the dragons riders returned to the Marble Palace the Hyllandorans sought out their long-lost brethren and allied with them in retaking the Wasteland.
Always closely linked with nature magic, the city is notable for the Hyllandor Dragon, a great statue dedicated to the dragons of Ashinthael, itself a massive edifice carved out of a mountain of marble.
