Tom Kenstein is a Tokish former-footballer who last played for Xäiville Teflons FC in Craitland. He is widely considered one of his nation's most talented players.
Club career
Kenstein began his career in 2006 with Dekiru Demons in the TIFSoF League, aged 24. Following the organisational collapse of the successor IAFL competition in 2012, Kenstein, now 30, moved to Craitish League 1 club Xäiville Teflons FC. Wearing the number 9, Kenstein made an immediate impact at the Teflons and scored twelve league goals in his début season as the club finished fifth. Following the signing of Łukasz Dąbrowski in 2013, and his subsequent partnership with Andrew Miller, Kenstein's opportunities as a starter were limited, though he continued to contribute goals towards the Teflons' rise. After scoring the second goal in a 2–0 victory in the 2014 Cities' Cup final, Kenstein also gained winner's medals for the 2015 King's Cup and 2016 CrFA League 1 during the club's most successful period. In the summer of 2018, after two further seasons in Xäiville, during which his increasingly more reduced role saw him fail to find the net in the league, Kenstein announced his retirement from football at the age of 36.
International career
Kenstein was called-up as a starter for the Tokidoki national football team from their inauguration at the 2006 FMF World Cup; forging a strong front three with his domestic teammates Erin Jowasaki and Alberto Trask. His five goals were an important factor in helping Tokidoki to second place in 2007 as the team lost the final on home soil. Kenstein's personal highlight was a semi-final hat-trick versus favourites Gaia; this remained the only hat-trick scored in the final four of an FMF World Cup until 2018.
Upon Toketi's succession of Tokidoki, Kenstein remained an important part of the new team, as he continued to score goals in four further consecutive World Cups, with four of those coming in 2010, where the team once again reached the semis as they placed third. Despite his advancing age, Kenstein remained involved in the Tokish national set-up until the nation's demise in 2016; appearing and scoring in both the 2012 and 2013 Copa Apollonias. He ended his international career as his home nation's top World Cup scorer, with 15 goals over seven finals tournaments.
After Toketi's demise, Kenstein gained eligibility for Shireroth, but wished to be never considered for a call-up.
