The Spine is the most rural hold within the Kingdom of Ashinthael. It is situated along the northernmost border of the kingdom along the jagged peaks of the Dagoran Spine. Its primary export is raw ores that are shipped west to Slobenberg. According to legend the Hold of Dannemoor was founded by Tomann wanderers who had traveled west after the loss of their homeland. Having become lost in the mountains they eventually decided to halt and settle in one of the more fertile valleys. Like the fierce Tomann people, those who reside in the Spine are known to be rather coarse, with a strong dislike for outsiders. As such the Spine remains settled only in tiny pockets, with Dannemoor itself only holding a population just over one-thousand souls. Indeed, it is commonly thought that there are more dragons than people hiding within the shadows of the mountains.
