Svafar Kveldulfsson (b. 1705, Hurmu; usual de-Vanicized Hurmu Norse spelling of his name: Svavar Kveldulvsson) is a Vanic militant and revolutionary, known for reactivating the long-dormant Keltia Restoration Movement (KLM) and spearheading a guerilla campaign to restore a neo-Vanic order in the lands formerly ruled by the Normandie.
Early Life and Education
Svafar Kveldulfsson was born in 1705 in the territory of Hurmu, a culturally diverse and politically fragmented region. Little is known about his early family life, but records suggest he received formal education during his youth. By 1725 AN, Kveldulfsson had become increasingly involved in underground Vanic circles, aligning himself with secretive ideological cells promoting Vanic restoration across scattered Storish diaspora communities.
In 1732 AN, he abruptly abandoned his university studies and traveled southward to the so-called Green Lands—a largely uninhabited and lawless expanse at the time. There, he encountered a radical group known as the Confederacy of the Dispossessed, a loosely organized collection of exiles, Vanic traditionalists, and former military personnel disillusioned with the post-Vanic world order.
The rebirth of the Keltia Restoration Movement
With support from the Confederacy, Kveldulfsson seized upon a regional power vacuum and, in 1735 AN, formally reactivated the Keltia Restoration Movement (KLM)—a militant Vanic group dormant since the fall of the old Vanic Empire. He envisioned the Green Lands, once part of the Duchy of Normandie, as fertile ground for a renewed Vanic civilization. His aim was not merely political autonomy, but cultural revival—rekindling the "Storish glory" through clandestine education, paramilitary training, and guerrilla propaganda.
Svafar Kveldulfsson arrived in the Normandy Buffer Zone in XI.V.1748 AN and surrendered his weapons at the border. He is alleged that lost his leadership position due to internal disputes and surrendered after failing to secure a positive response from the Confederacy of the Dispossessed regarding his desertion, but no official confirmation has been received. Following Svafar's surrender, the Keltia Restoration Movement disbanded, and the remaining armed elements were allowed to leave the country in accordance with the Ashen Accords. Almost all of the armed forces joined the Confederacy of the Dispossessed. Svafar was later taken to a high-security prison in the Lordship of Vardhaldsby. Svafar had been wandering the Green ever since he had effectively lost the war.
Sentenced to Social harmonization therapy, and remained (as of 1759) in such care under the auspices of the government of Normandie.
