Summit is a rural hold within the Kingdom of Ashinthael. It is situated east of The Palatinate in the heavily mountainous southern terminus of the Dagoran Spine. Its primary export is raw ores that are shipped west to Slobenberg. But aside from this the region is sparsely populated and extremely difficult to traverse. Only treacherous mountain paths that hug the sides of the cliffs afford any means of crossing the region to reach the Holds on either side. More often than not travel is achieved on dragonback flying over the mountains; but sometimes travel on foot is necessary. Summit is most notable for being home to the Witches of Ashinthael who reside in the Great Lodge at the village of Bascomb. Powerful magic users, they often act as seers and creators of pungent potions, the latter of which can be quite expensive. They are ruled by the Witch of the Summit, Lavinia Spidereye, the most powerful witch in the kingdom. While the witches are very much willing to offer their services for the right price, those who cross them have been known to perish in ways that send even the hardiest of souls into convulsions. Thus they remain both revered and feared by the rest of Ashinthael.
