The Sovereign Military Order of Ioanna is a combined-arms force charged with the territorial defense of Ioanna. The SMOI consists of land, air, and naval assets; however these are very limited due to the size of the lordship. In addition, an active reserve guard (around 2,659 personnel) is kept in regular rotational training for call-up in case of war. Originally a knightly order established by Saint Joan of Bosworth, the order was granted the island of Ioanna in 1537 AN. The Order was re-established following the East Keltian Collapse and transitioned to a modern defense force under the leadership of Grand Master John Morgan.
