Snow kangaroo
The Snow kangaroo (Thylogale nivalii) is a species of pademelon found in southeastern Cibola, especially in the area between Volksburg and Walstadt in the Aemilian jurisdiction of Walstadt and Light. It is known with certainty how the species of pademelon arrived on Micras as it is not related to any other species of animal known on the planet. Scientists have uncovered that the animal was taken by traveller from a zoo in Sweden to Jingdao while the Hurmu Gate between Jingdao and Sweden was active. It must then have been genetically modified by Unit 666 to adapt it to the cold temperatures of southeastern Cibola, and held in the gardens of the Palace of Sisera. Following the departure of Sisera, her palace fell into disrepair and the pademelons were able to escape and became feral, becoming part of the local fauna.
Snow kangaroos have a compact body with short but pointy ears, and very thick white and grey fur over their entire body. The animals reach a weight of around 5 kilograms, 60-100 centimetres in length, including a 15-20 centimetres long tail. There are few clear examples of sexual dimorphism in the species besides characteristics directly related to reproduction. The most notable one is related to fur patterns, males of the species generally have a striped fur, and females a dotted fur pattern.
