Proposal following discussions between user: Continuator and user:Jonas Windsor

Top level

The impending, as of 1731 AN, conflict between the Benacian Union and Shireroth, will be the moment where continental hegemony in Benacia will be made or remade.

Stakes

  • In the event of a Benacian victory, Shireroth remains an integral member of the Raspur Pact, reintegrated in the military sphere, and the ESB Group and N&H retain their freedom of operation.
  • Conversely, in the event of a Shirerithian victory, the aforementioned organisations are definitively purged from the Imperial Republic. Potential reckoning for the Benacian Union in the form of dismantling Benacia Command and suspension from the Pact.
    • Wouldn't the Benacian Union's suspension be reason to rejoin the Pact (over time)? Jonas Windsor (talk) 16:19, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
    • Allowances can be made for ironic future consequences Continuator (talk) 16:26, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
  • There will occur a swap of Station Sagittarius for Sabatini Isle swap either way.
  • Is it a possibility to simulate - afterwards - a (short) period of occupation? Occupation forces in e.g. Chryse or Shirekeep, temporary reconstruction authorities, etc.: nothing lasting, but to not just have the war come to an end and pretend daily life immediately starts again, as if nothing ever happened. Jonas Windsor (talk) 16:42, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
    • There are no objections on my part Continuator (talk) 16:44, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
      • Having said that, if was after the end of the conflict they would perhaps need to be depicted as cooperating with the civil authorities of the territory to demobilise and evacuated during an armistice period. During the conflict phase, however, occupation governments would be in full effect - reflecting the ideological peculiarities of both systems in their full glory. Continuator (talk) 16:48, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
        • Agreed. It seems reasonable that the occupying force simulates life in the occupied territories as if it's ruling it, with potential reprisals, 'occupation currency',... Jonas Windsor (talk) 17:25, 10 April 2024 (UTC)

Parameters

  • The conflict should be played out with existing declared assets, and to adhere to narrative causality and common sense when it comes to cause and effect and the interplay of actions.
  • Out of consideration for the neighbours, nuclear weapons and other credulity stretching super weapons to be avoided.
  • Regeneration of manpower and materiel to remain "plausible", following declared schedules and based on what a shift to a total war economy might look like in both states.
  • As a conflict between member states of the Raspur Pact, there will be no obligation for the wider alliance to become involved.
  • Third party involvement in general is recommended to be limited to logistics and "volunteers"

Some potential combat situations/events

Just as reminder of potential things to happen:

  • In the early days of the war, due to the war scare and approaching Benacian Legions, a number of Shirerithian Humanist politicians/nobles from the Folksraad and Adelsraad are arrested by the Marshals and Tegong officers. They are brought to the outskirts of Shirekeep, held imprisoned (illegally) in one of the abandoned farms afterwards executed (is shot down perhhaps too boring?) when news of approaching Legionnaries reach the Marshals ears. --> can be used as symbol of the 'humanist martyrs'. (based on RL: Abbeville Massacre)
  • In case of successes of Benacia in Guttuli: an Dunkirk-esque evacuation of troops from the shores of X [insert town/city name]. Inspires the Shirerithian nation to not give up and rally behind the cause.
  • Don't forget to add the Batavian Waterline (aka the Dutch Waterline) somewhere on the Batavian map.
