Sam Hyeland is a Bobalanian former-footballer who last played for Bailey City FC, with whom he spent the entirety of his career.

Club career

Hyeland began his professional career notably late, aged 31, upon joining Bailey City after their creation in 2007. His career was short, with his retirement in 2010 at the age of 34 coming at the collapse of Bobalania and its league.

International career

Hyeland was a key member of the Bobalania national football team during their brief existence within the FMF. After helping the team to qualify for the FMF World Cup in 2008, Hyeland's 15-goal partnership with Mark Norman saw the team to a third-placed finish in their first ever tournament. Hyeland was again influential the following year, with Bobalania easing into the 2009 FMF World Cup, where the striker scored a further four goals as Bobalania were eliminated in the quarter-finals on penalties. Hyeland also scored two further finals goals on Bobalania's route to placing fourth at the 2009 EMU Championships. Bobalania failed to qualify for the 2010 FMF World Cup in their last competitive outing, and Hyeland ended his career as his nation's top World Cup scorer with twelve goals over just two tournaments; one of Micras' most prolific records.
