The SAI Sorha is an infantry fighting vehicle designed and produced by Sanama Arms Industries. It is coupled with the SAI Urqo, a main battle tank. It shares most of its drivetrain with the Urqo.

Features

The Sorha chassis is constructed entirely out of aluminium with some parts made of fiberglass, reducing weight and increasing speed. The two-man turret is armed with a SAI 40 mm autocannon, based on existing SAI technology. It can fire APFSDS, high-explosive, smoke and multipurpose munitions, including programmable shells. The turret also carries a 7.62 mm machine gun. This is combined with an advanced fire control system and gun stabiliser, which allows the Sorha to fire while moving with a high degree of accuracy. The cannon can fire up to 300 rounds per minute. The APFSDS munitions can penetrate up to 220 mm of armour.

The programmable munitions have several settings including proximity, air burst, armour-piercing and fragmentation. The munitions can be reprogrammed in the air. The anti-tank armament includes a domestically produced ATGM which can penetrate up to 1,000 mm of armour.

The fire control system can track targets as far away as 6 km and identify them from up to 3 km away. The Sorha has separate sights for the commander and the gunner, both can detect ground and aerial targets. The sights were designed by Simines. Visors also provide a 360 degree view of the battlefield, fed by cameras mounted on the hull. The commander can assume control of the turret from the gunner.

The frontal armour can protect against 30 mm munitions, the side armour against 14.5 mm armour-penetrating rounds and the top against 155 mm artillery and missile fragments. The fuel tank is self-sealing in case of damage, and there is an internal fire suppression system similar to that installed on the Urqo. It is also equipped with both hard-kill and soft-kill protection systems.

The Sorha can carry up to 9 passengers, and the passenger compartment is equipped with a 15 in screen which provides data from the battle management system.
