Combat Vehicle Tactical Display System
TADIS is a system developed by Simines for use in various military combat vehicles. The system consists of two main parts, an array of cameras mounted on the outside of the vehicle transmitting a 360 degree image of the surroundings. The second part is a specially designed visir for the crew's helmets. When the visir is flipped down the background becomes opaque and the input from the hull-mounted cameras is displayed. This feed moves with the user's head movements. On top of this image, additional information from the combat information network is displayed. The cameras also provide automatic and digital rangefinders. A handset allows for the manipulation and control of the display and its information. This system also plugs into various peripheral systems, like ES-26 VERITAS, and translates that information into visual cues inside the display. TADIS also provides several LED displays for visualisation and control outside of the visir system.
