Rodrigo Castellanos is a New Alexandrian economist at the Institute for Strategic Studies, a policy research organization affiliated with the Pragmatic Humanism movement. He is most associated with the Institute's report The Alexandrium Horizon: Strategic Resource Management for Intergenerational Prosperity, which brought the concept of Peak Alexandrium into public debate in the early 1750 ANs.
The report projected that extraction from New Alexandrian Alexandrium deposits would peak between 1765 AN and 1768 AN, and it framed the policy problem that the Federation's later diversification and energy measures were written to address. Castellanos has remained a frequently cited commentator on Alexandrium and resource policy, offering measured assessments of the Federation's response, among them the Alexandrium Cascade Reactor program and the diamond-semiconductor work of Foundation 1768.
