Ricardo Fuentes (born 22.IV.1691 AN) is a New Alexandrian politician serving as a Deputy in the Federal Assembly for South Lyrica. A member of the Federal Humanist Party, he was first elected in the 1729 general election and has represented coastal fishing communities in the region for six consecutive terms. Fuentes gained prominence in 1735 AN when he broke with party leadership to support the Clean Water Act, 1735, arguing during floor debate that clean water standards would protect the fishing industry from contamination that threatened livelihoods. In 1751 AN, he introduced the Royal Commission on Alexandrium Sustainability and Economic Diversification Act, 1751, legislation establishing a Royal Commission to investigate Alexandrium depletion and develop recommendations for balanced economic development.
