Republicanos Anahuacanos (Britannic Istvanistani: Anahuacano Republicans) is a militant insurgent group and former combatant in the Anahuacano Civil War.

With a history dating back to before the creation of the modern Empire of Anahuaco the Republicanos began an insurgency campaign after their defeat during the civil war. While the group initially declared the birth of a republic in Ciudad de Anahuaco, their activities are now largely confined to the border areas of Granaditas and Pavón states as well as some areas of The Green.

History

Government

The Republicanos movement can be traced back to the birth of Anahuaco as a nation, with the Ciudad Grande Declaration being the moment a coherent republican group formed within the nation's ruling class. The Republicanos were considered by many to be the architects of the declaration, with the form of government it established broadly following republic principles.

During the early months of Anhuaco's existence, Republicanos controlled the government, and initially had some success in unifying the Ciudad Grande region as part of a single nation. However this government, and many that followed it, would not exert control over the entirety of the national territory.

Civil War

Despite some early successes following the outbreak of civil war in Anahuaco, the Republicanos failed to mobilize popular support behind the government, and the group quickly found itself outgunned and outmanned by the opposing Imperialista faction.

During the war, Republicano leader Roberto Sanchez proved to be a charismatic and determined leader, which allowed the group to continue even after the crushing defeat at the hands of the Imperialistas at the Second_battle_of_Guerrero. As the conflict draw to a close, Sanchez fled into hiding, and fermented the insurgent group that exists today, with the remnants of the Republicano army as a basis.

Insurgency

Since the end of the civil war, the Republicanos have launched a string of attacks against state authorities, with limited success. Targets have included police stations, army patrols, post offices, and municipal offices. The groups tactic typically consist of ambushes with firearms, although remotely detonated explosive devices have also been used ast times.
