Pitomachi
Pitomachi (Sanpogo: ピト町, Pitomachi) is a city in Sanpantul. Although not officially designated as the capital, it functions as the de facto capital city of the country since 1747, when the Sanpantul government established its ministries there.
History
The construction of the main parts of Pitomachi was completed in 1747 AN. Following the establishment of the national government, six ministries were relocated to the city, marking its rise as the administrative center of Sanpantul. Before this transformation, the area was largely uninhabited and used for the production of wild cocoons. It was formerly under the jurisdiction of Kipei.
Government and Politics
Pitomachi hosts the six ministries of Sanpantul and several government institutions. The partially completed Koyerno Palace is under construction in the city center, intended to become a key seat of national governance.
Geography and Urban Layout
The city has a population of 45,670, with urban planning designed to accommodate up to 240,000 residents. Its central districts are dominated by government buildings and skyscrapers, while the outer areas feature detached houses and green residential complexes.
Economy
Pitomachi is notable for its silk production, continuing the region’s historical association with cocoon cultivation. In addition to textiles, the city’s economy is strongly tied to government administration and construction.
