"They did not really think this through." - Humanity's final epitaph. |
Wherein the newly established Florian Republic proclaimed its attempt to blow up the moon and hilarity ensued. In the, not at all excruciating, real-time narration of the escapade provided by the Florians, the operation was reported to have destroyed the northern portion of the moon's surface. It was perhaps in response to the generalised reaction of incredulity concerning the near continuous flow of bulletins on the subject from Northcliff, however, that the Florian authorities then felt obliged, hastily, to put out a further bulletin to the effect that not all the satellite was destroyed (as if that would have helped in terms of mitigation).
Subsequently it has been observed, by various parties, that Tarsica remains intact and substantially unaltered.
It is perhaps not entirely lacking in pertinence for us to note that the Florian Republic nowadays advertises itself as a popular venue for the consumption of a wide variety of recreational drugs[1]
Footnotes
- ^ In the interest of fairness it is only appropriate to note that the Florian Republic strenuously rejects the characterisation of being overly permissive in terms of its domestic drugs culture.
