Ogbuchu family

The Ogbuchu family of Daau is the only remaining ethnic Negwachu descent family in Daau.

Family history

The Negwachu people are of distant Afrikaana descent and arrived in Daau as early as 1600 during the first Xi rule of the nation. However due to racial issues and disparity conflicts among rural Dauian areas, most Negwachu people moved out of Daau and into the Green by 1653 through mass emigration due to new legislations prioritizing Dauians of Yew ethnicity. Kevin Hamad Ogbuchu chose to stay alone in Daau during this time, believing he could be able to make a living despite his hardships and challenges in Daau. Kevin Hamad was the son of Elijah Ogbuchu and Destiny Alewatun.

The family has had multiple famous personalities, with Jiloan Ogbuchu being a famous Dauian actor and Jaslirani Ogbuchu being the CEO of Dauian bank DSBK. The recent rising footballing star Ipin is also related to the Ogbuchu family, with his dad being Jaslirani Ogbuchu. Ike Ogbuchu is part of the Daau People's National Assembly as the Head of the Party Propaganda Department while Michael Gael is the personal secretary of President Ismail Mokhtar Rajun. Gareth Ogbuchu is a budding banker at DNB.

Non Ogbuchu-surname family members such as Liam Carl is currently a pro basketball player for Bedok Blazers in the SPL while his brother Matthew is a footballer for Daau League side Salawak Crocs FC. Pierre Tchougang is also a footballer but for DSL side Daau United.
