National Ground Warfare School
The National Ground Warfare School (Martino: Escuela Nacional de Guerra Terrestre, ENGT) is a school located in Cárdenas, the capital of Nouvelle Alexandrie, dedicated to the training and certification of infantrymen for the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie. The school provides both the fundamental Basic Training Course for any member of the Federal Forces, as well as training for a number of specialised roles.
History
Foundation and Early Years
The ENGT was established in 1686 AN through the merger of local Tawantinsuyu training establishments. It was consolidated into the Infantry Training School (Martino: Escuela de Instrucción de Infantería, EII) at Cárdenas during the final phases of the original Cárdenas Plan, to provide a centralised training centre for basic combat training.
The EII expanded slowly over the years, through the addition of new barracks; as well as a dedicated Infirmary in 1696 AN. When the Special Operations Training Center opened in 1698 AN, it took over several duties from the EII, including the training of Commandos, which had been performed in the special Commando College (which is now the Engineering School).
Expansion and Modernization
Under the National Plan for the Armed Forces proposed in 1730 AN by the government of Marissa Santini, the EII was reorganised into the ENGT, and received over €8.5 billion for the creation of dedicated facilities for the training of specialists, including Engineers, Field Artillery, Signallers, Quartermasters, Combat Drivers, and Medics. Since then, the ENGT has almost doubled in size, with a total of twelve facilities as of 1746 AN.
In 1758 AN, at the command of the Secretary of Defense, the ENGT was subordinated to the Royal Military Academy.
Layout
The ENGT has a main campus with a total of twelve facilities, including housing, dining, and medical facilities. This includes ten schools:
- Infantry School - the main building of the ENGT, providing services for basic combat training, reserve training, and auxiliary forces.
