The Military Withdrawal Act (1693, South Sea Islands) is a legislative act of the Government of the South Sea Islands that received Royal Assent by the Lieutenant Governor on February 8th 1693. Entering into force upon February 12th 1693, the act bring to an end the deployment of the South Sea Islands Defence Force as a part of International Mandate Peace and Stability Force. After a deployment totalling six years, the Act brought the South Sea Islands' longest overseas deployment to a peaceful conclusion.

Text of the Act

Preamble

Whereas, the government of the South Sea Islands remain committed to the cause of peace and democracy throughout Micras.

Acknowledging with thanksgiving, the brave actions and steadfastness of the South Sea Islands Defence Force.

Believing, that the security situation in International Mandate for the Settlements in Apollonia has vastly improved during the six years deployment.

Understanding, that the altered border situation ensures the territorial integrity of the aforementioned.

Resolving, that the deployment of the South Sea Islands Defence Force to the International Mandate for the Settlements in Apollonia shall be brought to an orderly conclusion.

Resolving, that all equipment and personnel shall be withdrawn as soon as practicable.

Article one: Closure of Camp Gloucester

Beginning on February 12th 1693 all personnel, equipment and movable assets shall be withdrawn from Camp Gloucester to the Royal Survey Ship Madison, with the final handover of the complex (to the government of the International Mandate for the Settlements in Apollonia) to take place no later than February 22nd 1693.

Article two: Safety of Munitions

Prior to the completion of the withdrawal, all immovable munitions (including landmines) shall be made safe and rendered ineffective, thereby removing any danger of harm to civilians or misuse by nefarious groups or individuals.

Article three: Continuity

All relevant or practical information, pertaining to the continued maintenance of peace and security in the region, shall be disclosed to the government of the International Mandate for the Settlements in Apollonia upon the completion of the withdrawal.

Article four: Onward deployment

Recognising the need to maintain peace and good governance in Nova England, the withdrawn forces shall conduct a goodwill visit to the settlement of Hampton Bay commencing on January 29th 1693.

Article five: Miscellaneous

Any debt, financial or otherwise, owed by the South Sea Islands Defence Force to parties within the justification of the International Mandate for the Settlements in Apollonia shall be paid in full prior to the completion of the withdrawal.

Ratification

This act is hereby ratified by the Legislative Assembly of the South Sea Islands, and enacted into law by the application of the Lieutenant Governor's signature on behalf of His Royal Majesty the King.
