Kydros
Kydros is the island region of the Isles of Caputia from which the Kydrian people and the Kydrian language take their name, the Germanic-settled heart of the old Region of the Isles and, in its earliest days, a member state of the United Commonwealth of Hamland, Monovia, and Iridia.[1] Its islands, once part of Iridia, passed under Hammish rule and were settled by the stock that gave the region its Kydrian cities and its language.
The principal Kydrian cities of the Isles rise from Kydros, among them the regional capital Gotfriedplatz, Ulrichstadt, and Port Karsten; in the modern Isles of Caputia the Kydros lands make up the states of Gotfriedland and Karsten and of Ulrichstadt, which between them hold the region's Kydrian core.[2] The islands are known for the old gold workings about Gotfriedplatz, which underwrote the city's financial industry.[1]
