The Kraftfahrstraßennetz Ludwigshafen is a network of constructed and planned limited-access roads in the Republic Sankt Ludwigshafen. Plans to connect the cities of Sankt Ludwigshafen with modern roads were first made after 1693 after the Stadtparlement abandoned the maximum width of 88cm for roads. Gravel roads were constructed to connect Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen to Molkhof, Hinterdünen and Craitmark. In 1694 a gravel road was constructed to Oudorp, then still part of Zandarijn. In 1696 the Stadtparlement established regulations for paved roads, detailing among other things the place of vehicles on the road and basic traffic signs. Plans to pave the roads were still controversial, with high anticipated costs and local resistance preventing swift action. A moratorium was agreed upon that no paved roads would be constructed before 1700 and that the Stadtparlement had to agree before infrastructural projects would be launched. Hardliners in the Traditional Party of 1680 that opposed the road system even left the party to create the Tekeel Party in 1697. After the elections in 1699 the Traditional Party was more unified on the issue of infrastructural modernisation. With the Stadtparlement still dominated by the Traditional Party, swift action was taken after the moratorium ended in 1700. The Stadtparlement ordered a first limited-access road to be constructed between Louisville and Oudorp, via Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen.

The Kraftfahrstraßennetz Ludwigshafen has a Kraftfahrstraßennetzstraßeneinstufungssystem, or classification system for the different stages in development of a certain road.

1690 - 1699
