The Tekeel Party of 1697 is a political party that is active in Sankt Ludwigshafen. The name Tekeel is an Ashkenazi term derived from the Book of Daniel in the Nazarene Scripture. It means "weighed and found lacking". The Tekeel Party was founded as hardliners in the Ludwiggian Reformed Church felt that the Traditional Party of 1680 under Adam Rettich became too much focused on emulating the world, especially when it proposed to modernise the republic's infrastructure with paved roads, electricity and rail roads.
