"Support our glorious past, support the Koloniale Rijksbond", made around 1689 AN, promoting the re-establishment of Batavian colonial power.

The Koloniale Rijksbond, or Colonial Imperial Liga, is a Batavian organisation which aimed to promote the re-establishment of Batavian colonial power. As a private organisation, it attempts to put pressure on the government to focus on claiming oversea colonial possessions and establish goodwill towards those policies among the population. The organisation envisions reclaiming parts of Batavian Cibola and establish small trade posts across the world.

The organisations' headquarters is located at Hoornwijck, in 's Koningenwaarde, near the embassies.

History

In 1690 AN, a group of members advocated their global policy: small trade cities and naval bases, protected by a strong Royal Navy.

With the political situation in the Kingdom becoming more stable in the 1680's and a subsequent normalisation of life, and the nation's internal market, purchasing power was once again on the rise. A group of influential noblemen and merchants were ready to expand their horizon. Fuelled by the support of patriotic movements (and especially the Radicalen), they established the Koloniale Rijksbond. While nationalistic ideas were not uncommon throughout the member base, it were the trade and financial benefits which attracted most support among the upper class.

With the claim of the Unified Governorates of Benacia on Salome Eiland, it became clear that the east was full of dangers and threats. Despite the attempts of the government to keep good ties with the other major powers in Benacia, Shireroth and Elwynn, it was felt necessary to look overseas for the much needed resources. The Bataafse Antillen were already a major basis to the Keltian mainland, and served as their prime example: they were limited in size, leading to a relative ease to keep natives loyal to the Crown and generated a decent income thanks to its trade with the Keltian states. The idea of a global trade network with some trade cities, instead of conquering large portions of land (and having to pay the costs of numerous wars), won in popularity among its members.

As of now, any proposal made by the liga has failed to gain enough political support, due to its costs or criticism towards colonial ventures.
