Born in 1704 as the only daughter and child of Đorđe Babić and Miriam Marenai-Eqlarion al-Osman, 3rd Viscountess Cherokee, she grew up in Mitrovska. In 1723, at the age of 19, she married Velibor Jovanović-Smičić, Knjaz of Northern Coria. When her mother died in the sinking of the Biternion in 1735, she inherited her mother's title of Viscountess Cherokee.
