A formation of combat engineers (sappers) raised by the Benacian Union from the Kalgachi Grouping of Forces.

History

During 1722 AN the Kalgachi Corps of Engineers was organised within the Kalgachi Grouping of Forces, with the 1st (Oktavyan) Division, 3rd (Katarsis) Division, and the Fortress Division each constituting within themselves a full brigade apiece devoted to the combat engineer specialism. These were as follows:

  • 1st Brigade (Fortress Division)
  • 2nd Brigade (3rd (Katarsis) Division)
  • 3rd Brigade (1st (Oktavyan) Division)

During 1729 AN, the three brigades were subsequently detached from their parent divisions and integrated into a single corps.

In the fifth month of 1731 AN, the corps was toured by officers of the General Inspectorate of Benacia Command offering generous incentives to for those would be willing to serve outside the territorial boundaries of Kalgachia. The specifics of what such a deployment would entail were unspecified, conspicuously so, but could be guessed at.
