The Koninklijke Bataafse Voetbalbond (KBVB; English: Royal Batavian Football Association) is the national governing body for association football in Batavia. Founded in 2007, the association is responsible for the organisation of the Batavia national football team and the Jairo League, the country's top domestic football competition.
History
Establishment and early football
The KBVB was founded in 2007 and became affiliated with the FMF and WMFA. The Jairo League developed as Batavia's main domestic football competition, bringing together clubs from across the country.
Revival of the domestic competition in 2012
On 22 September 2012, the KBVB resumed the top-flight football competition following the Batavian Civil War. Ten clubs took part in the renewed league, with five matches played in the opening round. The participating clubs included Koningenwaarde Elite, Fortuna Davignon, Irrelse Boys and Royal Windsor.[1]
International football and the 2020 Benacia Cup
In October 2019, Batavia submitted a bid to host the 2020 Benacia Cup, identifying six stadiums and reporting twelve clubs in the Jairo League. The FMF subsequently awarded the tournament to Batavia in November 2019.[2]
Revival in 2026
Following Batavia's transition to a protectorate of Shireroth in 1757 AN, plans were made to revive the Jairo League for the 2026–27 season. The renewed competition retained its position as the highest domestic football league in Batavia and was planned as a ten-club competition.
Responsibilities
National football
The KBVB oversees the Batavia national football team and represents Batavian association football within the international football framework. Its historical affiliations with the FMF and WMFA began in 2007, were interrupted in 2015, and resumed in 2018.
Domestic football
The KBVB organises the Jairo League. For the 2026–27 revival, the league is planned as a double round-robin competition involving ten clubs, with each club playing eighteen matches across the season.
