Jardins Suspendus S.A. (Martino for Hanging Gardens) is a New Alexandrian vertical farming company headquartered in Cárdenas, Federal Capital District, and the largest integrated vertical farm operator in the Federation. Founded in 1724 AN by Marguerite Delacroix-Vega, the company was established to supply fresh produce to the rapidly growing population of the new federal capital, which faced logistical challenges in receiving perishable goods from traditional agricultural regions in the Wechua Nation and Santander. The company's first facility, a converted warehouse in the Barrio Industrial district, began producing lettuce and herbs for restaurants and government cafeterias in 1725 AN.
Jardins Suspendus expanded throughout the 1730s as the Federal Urban Agriculture Incentive Program of 1738 AN provided tax credits and subsidized energy costs for indoor farming operations. By 1749 AN, the company operated 47 vertical farming facilities across all major urban centers in Nouvelle Alexandrie, producing an estimated 82,000 tonnes of leafy greens, herbs, and microgreens annually. The firm controls approximately 42 percent of the Federation's leafy greens market and supplies produce to major grocery chains, restaurant groups, and institutional buyers including hospitals, schools, and military installations. Jardins Suspendus has pioneered the use of Alexandrium-enhanced sensors for plant health monitoring and operates the largest research greenhouse in Keltia, located adjacent to its Cárdenas headquarters.
