Jacques André Verdier (born 03.XI.1682 AN) is an Oportian politician who currently serves as the Leader of the Green Party of Oportia (GPO). Verdier gained national recognition during the 1742 general election as the GPO's candidate for Federal Representative of Oportia, where he secured 8.2% of the first-round vote, the party's strongest showing in a national election to date.

Before entering politics, Verdier had a distinguished career as an environmental lawyer, successfully representing communities affected by industrial pollution in several landmark cases against major corporations. Born to academics in the university town of Pax, Verdier combines intellectual rigor with passionate environmental advocacy, championing strict Alexandrium mining regulations, renewable energy transition, and environmental justice. He first entered the Federal Congress in 1730 AN as a deputy from Pax and rose to prominence as a vocal critic of the Montijo administration's environmental policies. In 1742 AN, he assumed leadership of the GPO after the Oportia–Nouvelle Alexandrie integration scandal and the departure of Felicia Belanger from leadership.
