The Ioannan Ox, is a species of cattle bred for the Arctic extremes on the island of Ioanna. Bred from oxen brought over from mainland Keltia by Bosworth, the breed was raised to specifically survive the harsh polar climate and graze on the grasses of the machair growing on the island. They are valued for their hardiness and as food staple in the inhospitable tundra, providing both milk and meat, as well as clothing; though this latter practice has diminished in modern times. Due to its importance to the livelihood of Ioannan's, it was named the national animal of the island.
