Grand Wulfram FC is a football club from Zuid-Richel, in the South Sea Islands.
The club is the largest and most well-supported sports team in the Commonwealth, attracting crowds of thousands to headline matches.
Grand Wulfram FC’s stadium in Zuid-Richel is named Wulfram Park, consisting primarily of a series of grass terraces. The stadium’s only formal seating area, known as the Grand Grandstand by fans, consists of a covered wooden platform adjacent to the changing rooms.
The lack of hard infrastructure at the ground has led to problems with access control, with Grand Wulfram FC accusing many fans of failing to buy a ticket and fleeing when asked to pay.
History
The club was established in 1713 as an amalgamation of two company teams: the Eastern Ocean Seaways team and the Zuid-Richel Bearenburch Distillery team. While the club became a separate legal entity, the two companies remain involved, providing board members and acting as the club’s main sponsors.
Within the South Sea Islands Football League, Grand Wulfram FC maintains a near monopoly on league victories. The club has won all but five annual tournaments since its establishment.
While Grand Wulfram dominates the domestic football scene within the Commonwealth, the club struggles internationally and rarely makes it beyond the qualification stages of most competitions.
