Francesco Giocatore (born 27 January 1989), nicknamed "Ciccio" Giocatore, is a Tellian racing driver who competes in Formula Micras for Scuderia DaeZoom FM.
Career
Francesco Giocatore was born in Fiorecittà in January 1989 and in the first part of his life he worked as a streamer, mainly in the field of racing simulator video games. His skill in the online championships led him to transfer his skills to the real track and from here his transfer to Vegno was born, where he began to drive real cars on circuits for the first time.
His excellent skills allow him to be noticed very soon by Sburo Automotives which at that time was planning the creation of a team to compete in the national single-seater championship.
With the creation of the MFM and the international championship of Formula Micras he is signed by the Sburo Deliziosa FM Team for the 2022-23 championship.
2022-23
The 2022 season started very well for Ciccio, winning a sixth place in the inaugural and home grand prix for his team, foreshadowing an excellent season for him and for the team.
During the following races, however, Giocatore was never able to find the feeling with the car he had had in the first race, finishing all the following 6 races outside the points close to the last positions and with two retirements due to technical failures. During this first part of the season he was overshadowed by his teammate Michele Spettacolo, who managed, however, with the same car, to score points regularly, also bringing two victories at the end of the season.
In the middle of the season he strung together a series of 3 consecutive points finishes and 5 out of 6 points races in the central part of the season, without ever going beyond seventh position. From mid-season onwards, however, the situation got worse for Ciccio, with a car stalled in development and clearly not up to podiums and victories and with numerous technical engine failures. The races in the last part of the season were for the Tellian driver. almost an ordeal.
The news of his signing for a rival team and the abandonment of Sburo had already been circulating in the paddock since mid-season but the official announcement arrived during the last races of the season, announcing that in the 2023 season he would race for Scuderia DaeZoom, one of the dreams of the Fiorecittà driver since ever.
The prospect of a team change reinvigorated the driver who in the last three races achieved three good results: an eleventh place close to the points zone, a ninth place and an excellent fifth place in the last grand prix of the season, which turned out to be the best race of the season, taking him to the final threshold of 40 points and to 13th place in the drivers' standings.
